Our Client is a leading Multinational Group operating on international markets in production and marketing if systems and component for the movement of water, they are looking for an Product certification Engineer.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
As part of the engineering team, your focus will be on product compliance and certification, including the management of complex certification processes and the product modifications necessary to guarantee compliance. Furthermore, you will participate in other development and product modifications’ activities. You will be a reference for other departments such as sales or manufacturing for technical product related and certification matters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Verifies conformity to standards, Directives or legal requirements of our products.
Is the expert on specific European requirements related to our products, that include safety standards and drinking water requirements for electric motors, pumps, electronics, and systems.
Manages personally complex product certification processes such as explosion proof (ATEX), ROHS or certification of conformity to EU safety requirements (CB scheme) including the definition and management of the necessary product modifications to guarantee the compliance with the requirements.
Defines technical solutions on new developments or product modifications along with the Project Team..
Proposes ideas for new developments and product modifications to improve the competitiveness of our products
Manages product modifications
Understands customer technical needs.
Supports Manufacturing, Sales and Service/Quality departments on product specific issues.
Coordinates with Franklin Electric Engineering Global organization, especially concerning certification activities.
Participates in analysis of products from main competitors.
Creates and manages DFMEA, DVP&R and other related technical documents working together with the engineering team.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and Abilities
Reads, analyzes, and understands product directives, technical norms and specifications, and certification requirements
The ideal candidate has experience with IEC requirements, ATEX requirements and/or various drinking water standards.
Has passion and skills for technical matters and product design
Precision, reliability and organization skills are required.
Is a good communicator and works well in teams.
Knows product development tools such as CAD-CAE, DFMEA, tolerance stack up analysis, DVP&R, etc.
Knows various manufacturing processes (casting, machining, molding, etc.)
Good problem-solving abilities, capacity to organize effectively his/her own work and time.
Reads, writes, and speaks English fluently.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related degree (required).
Ideally 2-3 years of experience on design duties in Engineering or R&D department.
Computer Skills
Knowledge of the basic MS office tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
